there’s a teeny tiny problem:

The lights don’t work without the App.

Did I mention the company went bankrupt? And the spotty history of the bike? And that Customer Support is in startup heaven? And how ridiculous it is anyway to need to login into an app to turn your light on?

#WordWeavers Apr 23: Do you plan your themes or do they arise from your writing and then get tweaked in edits?

A bit of both - my main themes have been percolating for a while. Some will arise naturally as I write.

#WritersCoffeeClub Apr 23: World Book Day! Share a prompt or the first few lines of a story you wish you could read.

Although not strictly a prompt this one has always been one of my favourites

Text says: Meryl Streep burner account&10;&10;DaveBeTweeting&10;&10; Having ADHD and being turned into a vampire would be so embarrassing.&10;&10;Imagine being alive 600 years and you still haven't put that desk in your castle office together

#WritersCoffeeClub Apr 22: Earth Day! Who’s your most traveled character? Your least?

Least travelled would be Amelie - she was born on the frontier and has never known another world.

Most would be Vee who has spent her working life aboard space ships, she was sent to the frontier by her employer and always expected that she would get to go home.

#WordWeavers Apr 22: Would your story work in a vastly different setting?

Yes, the detail would have to change but the story itself could be transported without much issue.

#wordWeavers Apr 21: Is there anything that bores you about any of your characters?

Why would I write characters that bore me?

#writersCoffeeClub Apr 21: In honor of John, who doesn’t really like coffee:  what “established” writerly traits don’t really apply to you?

I don’t live in a loft in Manhattan and write about my social life1.

  1. probably a good thing as my social life isn’t very exciting. ↩︎

#wordWeavers Apr 20: If someone gave you a million dollars (or equivalent) to never write again, would you take it?

No.

#writersCoffeeClub Apr 20: What role does religion play in your writing?

Currently none. My worlds are mostly secular.
